Empower young learners to "reach higher" and take charge of their learning journey through #StandardBasedGrading. Lorena Villa's classroom is a testament to this approach. #StudentEmpowerment https://t.co/FeFeip4bFD
🥰💙 Just yesterday our little group of classroom teachers came to school early to learn from @AshleySPryor how to set up the new Gradebook, and to support each other as we figure out how to make the @usd383 #standardbasedgrading initiative truly work. Love our team!
Unconventional (& perhaps unpopular) hot take: grades are not necessary for students to learn, especially if grades are not an avenue for feedback & are simply a summation of what’s correct on an assignment #Standardbasedgrading #Grading #teachertwitter #edutwitter
Students not knowing how to do something in the beginning of a unit is expected—they are learning. These students should not be punished for not knowing by teachers averaging grades from the beginning of the unit with those at the end. #StandardBasedGrading
Finished the free course on #StandardBasedGrading by @RaeHughart with @teachbetterteam. This definitely changes they way I look at assessments, assignments, and feedback! #SBG #teachbetter
Then, after updating grades to reflect students current learning. A student brings their mom to show them their latest test grade and how they prepared for it. My teacher heart is full. And it’s the validation I needed to keep pushing. #StandardBasedGrading #MTBoS #iteachmath
Teachers! Try this: grade S’s using rubrics. Give colors, not grades, on work as feedback. Helps organize students into small groups for reteaching. Allows them to show improvement & move up the scale. #standardbasedgrading @IMS_Indians @CCPS_SecELA
Today's PD is focused around assessment capable learners. Where am I going? Where am I? How can I close the gap? #standardbasedgrading #fmsteach

An ep from “The Universe” on @Netflix helped my Ss tie together ideas from our unit. Tweaks to vid notes like #keywords at top focus on quality over quota. Stamp tells Ss this is a chance to demo proficiency in actively listening. @GUHSD_Science @MrFMRuiz #standardbasedgrading
