St Emeric Parish of Budapest celebrates centenary 💯 of its foundation. The baroque revival style church was consecrated in 1938 for the #Cistercians who today serve it again, along with the prestigious "Szent Imre Gimnázium" secondary school next to it. #StEmeric #November5

#Nov5 is the feast of #StEmeric, son of King St Stephen, died at young age in 1031. On his birthplace in #Székesfehérvár stands the baroque St Emeric church. The only surviving fragment of his tomb is at the Diocesan Museum of Székesfehérvár.

#StEmeric parish church in #Budapest is run by the #Cistercians along w/ the nearby renowned high school. Built in the 1920s in baroque revival style it's situated beneath St Gerard Hill & accross the sc "Bottomless-lake". Just in the middle of Buda-side downtown...

#StEmeric church in #Budapest from 1938 is an interesting combination of modern architecture, baroque revival & renaissance-like painted ceiling. It is one of the most lively parishes, served by Cisercians, w/ nearby renowned secondary shool.

Z osobą świętego Emeryka (1007-1031), związana jest legenda - jako nastolatek odbył pielgrzymkę do grobu św. Wojciecha, goszczony przez swojego wuja, Bolesława Chrobrego, któremu podarował relikwię z Krzyża Świętego. Relikwię w 1306 Łokietek przekazał benedyktynom na Łysej Górze.

Today is feast of #StEmeric, son of King #StStephenOfHungary. Died prematurely in a #hunting accident. Was brave & chaste, declared patron of HU🇭🇺 youth. On his altar in #Budapest St Stephen's Basilica there's a relic of his mother Bl Queen Gisela. A holy family at HU's origins.
