Warning: #teacherrant incoming :-) Just an average day explaining to students WHY they should listen to their teachers.
Sometimes it helps with the buy in to take the time to talk about the why behind the things you ask your students to do. #pe #elempe #iteachpe

#TeacherRant Student has not attended literally 1/2 of the classes this marking period. All in class work is posted online, but student has done none. Marking period ended last week. Student emails at 8:30 last night & wants to know if they can do make-up work. Uh, no.

Just a periodic reminder that your students who may struggle in the classroom usually ✨ shine✨ in specials classes #teachertwitter #teacherrant
I hate hurricane Ian!! #teacherrant
this 🧵reminds me of how much I hate asking students to do this kind of work... the teachers don't even know the answers! and WHY do we need students to identify it anyway?!? #TeacherRant
It’s so heartbreaking when I overhear other teachers say of a student that they’re a waste of time or a lost cause. Yes, some students are a pain and show zero effort — but they will never surpass our expectations of them, especially when we lack all faith in them. #TeacherRant
Dear @NPR, there is no such thing as "learning loss". Please reconsider your relationship with Lindamood-Bell which is using its patronage to capitalize using a boogeyman term to lure parents to purchase services that are likely not needed.

Why do y’all want to change how we do lesson plans? I’m so tired of changes. It is always something new. I have 5 preps and 150 students. This is another 1.5 hours by itself. #teacherrant
I am not a parent but if you have kids, why wouldn’t you want to make sure they have the best possible life!? Why make them repeat your families bad habits? Why treat them horribly? Why cause trauma? If you don’t care then give them to someone who does. #teacherrant
Sometimes I just want to un friend ignorant people on Facebook. Specifically those who are asking for a salary from the clown @realDonaldTrump for “teaching” their children at home. Ok, said it bye. #TEACHers #venting #TeacherRant
In sending out access to learning games and assignments virtually apparantly I completely forgot to mention to parents it's STUDENT work I'm sending out. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Parents please #embracethestruggle !!! #mistakesletlearningpossible #teacherrant
you know what's neat? the LMS we use crashing bc it's overloaded w students & teachers all over trying to do school remotely.
actually it's not neat. it's making submitting Q3 grades & starting Q4 VERY difficult. & gaining the motivation to do it is is hard enough.

If I got a dollar for every student that says “I don’t check my school email” or “I don’t get Classroom notifications” I’d be a semi-rich man for sure! 🤦🏻♂️ Students: Check your email and classroom! Google even has apps for these for your phones! #teacherrant #idontacceptlatework
SO TRUE and what's worse, our students ( and us young teachers) are going to have to deal with the worst of the effects for our entire lives. WE OWE IT TO OUR KIDS TO STEP UP AND BE EXAMPLES IN FIGHTING GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE. #teacherrant
16 of the best climate change and global warming teaching resources for KS2. https://t.co/cc1Zqq0gUp
Why is it so hard for some parents to take away their kids phones when it’s a constant distraction to their academic lives? Baffles me how parents let kids run the show #TeacherRant
