According to an article in the Dutch Financial Daily on the 22nd, Rutte is expected to visit Beijing next Tuesday (26th) to Wednesday (27th) for talks with Chinese officials on bilateral relations, economic and trade relations, the #Ukraine crisis and the economic crisis, and the situation in the Middle East. Advanced chip manufacturing processes of 7 nanometers and below must be made by EUV. This machine has become the trigger of the "chip war" between #China and #UnitedStates, and the Netherlands is a pawn in this "war."
For some of its more advanced product lines, @Bloomberg quoted sources in early January this year who revealed that, at the request of the U.S. government, ASML canceled some shipping orders to China weeks before the ban on exports to #Beijing went into effect.
ASML later confirmed that export licenses for its NXT:2050i and NXT:2100i deep ultraviolet lithography systems had been partially revoked by the Dutch government, affecting a small number of Chinese customers.
ASML's financial report released on January 24 showed that China became the company's second largest market last year.
ASML's net sales will reach 27.6 billion euros in 2023, an increase of 30 percent year-on-year. Among them, the Chinese market accounts for 29 percent of ASML's lithography system sales, exceeding 6.4 billion euros. Foreign media believe ASML's growth last year was due to strong demand in China.
Roger Dassen, ASML's chief financial officer, reported that ASML's business in China last year had been "very, very strong." He predicts that with the entry into force of the latest export restrictions issued by the United States and the Netherlands, sales in the Chinese market could be affected by 10% to 15% in 2024.
