#Tipflation is the real problem. There's no inflation on the tipping percentage—stop acting like 15% is passé and 20% is the new normal! It's not. Tipping is a reflection of your hard work as a server—stop acting like 15% [or even 20%] is the mandatory minimum, even for horrid service! It's not. If I get fantastic service, then I'll tip more; if I get poor service, then I'll tip less.

So I went thru a drive thru for a well known BBQ place this afternoon. Not a fancy place. But good. I used my bank debit card to pay. They handed the receipt back to me to sign with TIP line. As if they waited on me inside. Is this something new? I have never tipped for a drive thru. Its not like a resturant where you do pick up. Its a drive thru like many fast food places. I did not tip. She gave me a dirty look🤔 really? Its a BBQ joint.

@DudespostingWs First time at 5 Guys. Ordered burger, fries and soda = $22. I stood inline, paid and it asked for a tip on the machine. I was like, "Huh. Okay, they'll bring me my food." NOooooo - they yelled my number = $25 for a fast food meal. Never went back. #Tipflation #tip #TippingPoint

#Tipflation has gone insane. It used to be that 10% was the minimum tip when I was growing up, then it was 15, then 18, and now 20%??? & in some places the lowest is 25%! It's percentage based, there's no reason that number should go up! Waiters have become unbearably entitled.
