The shadow is that of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's 1895 Martyr's School, and you can just make out the outline of one of its distinctive roof vents on the red sandstone of the retreat.

I've always presumed it represents St Mungo, but I'm in no way certain about this. Whoever it is, he doesn't look like someone you'd want to get on the wrong side of.
