The first and only eastbound passenger train out of #toronto this morning. #viarail #train60 and #train50 with VIA 6426 leading through Mile 318 Kingston Sub this morning. This train is doing reverse movement near Cobourg now after picked up passengers from #train55.

The culprit that has kept #viarail #train55 stuck since last night. 17 hours on the train. Made some new friends. Slept on the floor. Booked and then cancelled a hotel room. It's a Christmas Eve to remember.

Please if anyone has seen our nonna Aurora from #train55 let us know. We know she made it onto the rescue train but there was another emergency transfer in Oshawa and we can’t find her @VIA_Rail @OPP_News @CP24 @CTVNews

@lucilleellis I get that the train would have to be repaired but why aren’t the firefighters/rescue people chainsawing that tree? And there are farmers locally with equipment to fell and lift trees—they would know what to do…why on earth did they make you all wait so long? #Train55 #onstorm

If Gander, NFL can house and feed thousands of stranded passengers at 9/11, surely we SHOULD be able to get a few hundred passengers off a stranded train, without it taking 17 or so hours. @VIA_Rail needs to review their emergency response plan and do better. #train55 #ViaRail

.@VIA_Rail is a crown corporation and reports to @Transport_gc. Where was @OmarAlghabra to assist passengers and get things moving? Surely at hour 9, 10, 11 there warrants an escalation to the MINISTER. Good grief. #ViaRail #train55

Are there any Ukrainian Farmers with Tractors handy? How about Canadian Farmers? Real ones, not the cutesy urban farmers. They usually have plows on their tractors in winter, and if they can pull a tank, then they can pull a tree off of a train. #cdnpoli #Train55
