We've also tested bolt-on rock pools in various numbers and configurations to determine their effectiveness in improving biodiversity on concrete coastal structures. So far we've seen lower shore species further up the walls, as well as fish and crabs present. 🐟🦀

This is brilliant news - native oysters settling in the @ArtecologyDept #Vertipools produced for the @marineffproject - news just in from project co-ordinator & researcher @jessmarbio. #ecoengineering #ocean #health #biodiversity #innovation

And (not to brag but...) we found several #nativeoysters (Ostrea edulis) in the #marineff rockpools - a big deal considering the large Pacific oyster (Magallana gigas) farm in the harbour. The final tally is to be confirmed but we found as many as three in one rockpool 1/2

Legend has it you are never more than a mile from an @ArtecologyDept #vertipool... Found these Vertipools on the Thames shore, full of water and algae - sadly they were too high for me to have a proper poke around 😭

@ArtecologyDept And so it begins! 100 #Vertipools on the order sheet for a single client. Great to have handed the stainless steel armature cutting to our neighbours in the IW Biosphere Reserve @HydromarLtd. The superb work done by them makes our job so much easier!!
