I recently wrote a paper for a (wonderful, generative) #virtualc19 seminar on "presentism" exploring continuities between the accusations of hypocrisy used to discredit C19 abolitionists and those aimed at contemporary activists on the left.

This weekend I attended the #VirtualC19 conference on "Dissent" & only just now realized that there is no adequate translation of that word into German, because neither "Uneinigkeit" nor "Meinungsverschiedenheit" nor "Widerspruch" captures the element of "Widerstand" it implies..
I've already said most of what I want to say about #VirtualC19, but will add one last thing: the last two times I've hung out with Yi-Ting, we've talked about how nice it is to facilitate connections and conversations between people who genuinely *like* each other.
