Church Journal Entry 8/30/2026 Today, a six-year-old boy stood alone at pulpit that routinely intimidates even prepared adults and told the congregation who Jesus Christ is to him. He is a friend. He helps me solve problems and fix my mistakes. He is a teacher. He loves me. That was his testimony. There was no polish to it, and he wasn’t trying to make it profound. He was just telling us what he knows about Jesus. It left me thinking how much we sometimes complicate faith. A six-year-old can stand at a pulpit and tell you, in four sentences, what it means to him to follow Christ. The picture I took is imperfect too. The camera focused on the bench in front of me, so the little boy is blurred in the background. Somehow, I don’t mind. It feels like a fitting picture of the moment. I wasn’t there for a performance. I was there to listen to a little boy tell me about his friend, his teacher, and the person he believes loves him.
