Following a fantastic panel with papers by @LesleyFGray, @patty_argy and @literaReem at #woolf2018, I've just rewatched *Woolf Works*, the 4th time I've seen it. As always I found it utterly extraordinary, but I loved watching it with the ideas from your papers still in my mind!
Well, going through my #Woolf2018 notes and all the Twitter action took longer than expected, although there were also emails and a lunch break in there. Huge thanks to all @vwoolf2018 for a fabulous conference - I thoroughly enjoyed it at the time, and again reliving it today.😃
Today I am reliving #Woolf2018 by going through my notes and the Twitter feed. Then I will be doing some preparation work for my first 'Ways into Woolf' session @PallantGallery next week. I might even try and finish off some first-year reading lists... Busy!
Presenting my paper, "Hauntingly Beautiful: Mrs Dalloway and Woolf Works" where I explore Septimus's inability to feel peace & close-read @_edwatson's portrayal of Septimus in the ballet which I argue facilitates an embodied re-reading of the character in the novel. #woolf2018
And, speaking of performance... Our panel: "Interpreting Woolf Works" with @LesleyFGray, myself, @literaReem and our lovely chair @naomi_donovan So wonderful to see #ROHwoolf's ballet given a whole panel at #woolf2018 thank you @vwoolf2018 for this treat
Perfectly choreographed, the panel was followed by a concert: "Pacifism & Pierrot: Debussy in Bloomsbury." Suzanne Fischer treated us to beautiful singing & a reading of Debussy's La boîte à joujoux (I do wish there was a bit of dancing💃... but I'm obviously biased) #woolf2018
Let's just say that I thoroughly enjoyed Charlotte de Mille's paper "Debussy at the Omega Workshops" for obvious reasons... "rhythm and dynamism" "rhythmic gestures + Debussy's radical innovations" #woolf2018
