Any other authors get two thirds the way through their Christmas book and worry that they're not actually writing a Christmas book? No? Just me then... 😵‍💫😵‍💫 @isobelakenhead #homefrontnurses #authorlife #writerlyproblems

About to dive in & start plotting my 33rd novel (also the next book in my new WWII series - first book coming in August😉😉) and straight away I've gone into 'how the hell do I do this??' mode. Hands up all other writers who feel the same EVERY time! #Writerlyproblems #amwriting

How can I be expected to coordinate my limbs to get out of bed when my whole brain is in use solving issues with my WIP? That transformation scene isn't going to explain itself, nor is the deus ex machina in chapter 7 going to become believable if I get up now. #writerlyproblems

Headed to a cafe to meet a friend and write together. Will try to navigate the balance of talk time and writing time. So fun to catch up, but so much to get done. 😆🌌💗 #writingcommunity #writerlyproblems

#writingcommunity Is it normal for a writer to have a crush on their characters or do I just need some attention? #writerlyproblems

When you’re away from your laptop so long, it assumes you’re a guest user when you finally open it. #Procrastination #WriterlyProblems #AmWriting - I swear!

#WritingTwitter Reading 1 of something you've written: Yep this feels great. Reading 2: Is this.....bad? Reading 3: OMG THIS DESERVES TO BURN IN HELL. RT if you feel me. Like if you don't. #WriterlyProblems

Now that I've had a few hours (and several cups of ☕️)...I can see that as a novelist, drinking my story ideas might be a bad idea... 😳 🤷🏻‍♀️ 📝 #amwriting #writerlyproblems

As I edit my current WIP, I realize there really needs to be a "National Wordy Writers Day". I mean, why use 3 words when you can use 10, right? #writerlyproblems #toowordy

#writerlyproblems Too hungry. "Maybe I should eat first." Eats a lot. "Now I'm too full to write. Maybe I should digest first?" Waits. Gets sleepy. "I should probably drink some coffee." Waits for the coffee to brew. Gets coffee. "Too hot..." Waits. Sips. Finally gets to writing.

What to do when the reward for working hard is so distracting you can't work? Going to hear the great #SebastianBarry #DaysWithoutEnd at #OxfordLiteraryFestival tonight. Sooo excited! #writerlyproblems #getonwithit
