New pay implementation of @Core_LN does not ignore channels with non #zerobasefee
But to linearize the basefee it overestimates the fee of such channels in min cost flow computation. Chances exist that your chanel despite being cheapest may not be selected to send the payment.

2/ Since @Damus and #zaps came online. I've been forwarding many more smaller payments. 1-100 satoshis per payment.
In my case, I run a #zerobasefee policy on my node. This means I route these payments for free. I only take a fee for larger payments.

Last time as a result of our research almost half the channels on the network changed to #zeroBaseFee.
I am really curious to see how many channels will now start to set asymmetric pairs of `htlc_maximum_msat` to install valves and do flow control!

#ZeroBaseFee as a default is the way.
The fees are up to you and should be dynamic, but you can set a custom default fee for new opened channels by editing LND .conf.

@zerofeerouting As long as there is an option to set the channel to Public before opening, then Umbrel node Orville supports this. I suggest #ZeroBaseFee and 1000 ppm as the default.
