@ThomasDost2@sir_git_gud separately, I don't want to deal with european customs of any kind ever again. They disappeared multiple books that I had to replace at my own expense.
I got my copies of the book, the rest went to the warehouse. We'll start shipping this week I imagine. Looks like the lay-flat binding is doing it's job.
The lay-flat binding cost an extra 26 cents per book if you're wondering how badly you're getting screwed by big publishers.
If you didn't opt out of emails from Gumroad you should've gotten a message from me today about the pre-sale of the hardcover @haskellbook
It links to this blog post with details: https://t.co/UAd0QOP6e1
Here's a blog post expanding on what I said about the pre-sale of the print book earlier today:
https://t.co/UAd0QOP6e1
Please let me know if you have any questions!
The printed hardcover edition of @haskellbook is now available for pre-sale: https://t.co/XWKLK5Jc9I
If you need to change your address between now and when the book starts shipping, please send me an email: https://t.co/5nvF33A5kU
Expect the book to ship in 2-3 months.
I need to do a pre-flight check but the main remaining items are pulling a database snapshot to piece together the database migration (a lot changed to support physical sales), testing the coupon generation against that local snapshot, and then pushing out migrations and coupons.
Logistics integration seems to be working. If things go according to plan the pre-sale of the print version of @haskellbook will be available by the end of March. Keep in mind it's a pre-sale: this is so I know how many books to print off. Books may not ship for 2-3 months.
Everyone that bought Haskell Book while it was in early access gets an automatic 50% off coupon. It'll apply automatically, you won't need to do anything. If you don't have a coupon and believe you should you can email me at [email protected]
Anyway pre-sale is coming soon. In terms of programming, I'd like to get a head start on the fulfillment integration work.
I'd also like to write a blog post explaining the reason for the pre-sale.
Haskell Book people: does this make sense to y'all? I'm gonna call the printer next week to get a new estimate and make sure everything's in order.
(This isn't live, this is from my local dev version of Lorepub's e-commerce app.)
@ashprakasan@dennistel90@drboolean I just ended up learning Haskell no better way to understand all the various abstractions. I would recommend this book: https://t.co/xmuidLy3Sh
You don't need to get anything to get your coupon for a discounted copy of the print book if you bought the ebook in early access!
I have a database of all the purchases. I'll be using that data to copy licenses over to Lorepub and to generate & email coupons automatically.
