Tharel Thompson, a young man from Barbados was on holiday with family in the UK when he became the victim of a vicious attack.

He was left with severe injuries and now needs 24 hour care and further surgery but as a foreign national he's not entitled to NHS treatment.

According to his mother, who's in this country to care for him, he's not well enough to be moved back home to Barbados and the treatment he needs would not be available there anyway.

Out of curiosity what’s a grammar pet peeve you can’t stand? For me it’s when people say “first annual” instead of “first inaugural” for an event. It doesn’t become annual until the second occurrence happens 😭

@AntiClimaco I also think it’s a financial thing too. If you fail a class, you have to repeat. Extending your time in college and paying more. If you pass, you move on and spend less. I think something should be done with college cost and student loans so they aren’t stressed about cost
