@Tablesalt13 Proposition: Do a chart to show what was needed for a downpayment by year. Then do a chart that goes off of the monthly mortgage. My prediction is if you correct it for inflation, you will see a really flat line until 2015.
@DegenApeDev@mal95888 I think there is an important distinction you should be making. You can survive on $32k if you are locked into a decent rental. That is for Millennials and Boomers. If you are GenZ, you are on the street or starving on that income…..
@legend_trades@ShaziGoalie WFH has taught them that they can rely on remote workers. Why would they pay a Cdn in CDN when they can pay x people to x jobs for the cost of one Canadian.
People had their blinders on and got greedy.
@NoLore You know how I'm private equity they buy the company, then send in the person to deconstruct everything and sell it off before they close it out and monopolize their share of the market?
Who sent him in to do this kind of thing? That is the real question.....
@vesperdigital Why would they cut the rate if inflation is going up? Nobody thought their variable rate was going lower.... We all know hikes are coming, we just didn't know when
@truthache68 @saltycuban83 If you look at what the average wage is in Iran, it is equivalent to someone making $45k/yr paying $4/gal. 0.00008% of their yearly wage. Now, that doesn’t take into account income tax, payroll tax etc.
@davidkmcgown@tylermeredith@FraserInstitute CPP is a payroll tax; therefore, it is a tax that we pay. Anything that takes away from your gross income that you can't choose to not pay, is a tax.
One day I will calculate what percentage of my pay go towards tax. I anticipate it will be above 40%.
