i’ve been digging into rwa lately, trying to find something that isn’t just recycled leverage dressed up as yield.

yieldnest’s yield season is live, and the one that stood out to me is ynrwaₓ.

it’s offering ~11% apy, backed by $320m in tier-1 australian residential mortgage credit. real assets. real cash flow. no synthetic games.

what made me pause:

managed by kimber capital (afsl-licensed australian fund manager)

assets independently verified by bird & bird

conservative ltvs, institutional borrowers, prime real estate

no leverage loops baked into the base yield

this feels much closer to institutional fixed income than typical defi volatility.

you can mint ynrwaₓ directly with usdc on yieldnest, then optionally stack extra yield by looping with partners like

with yield season incentives, total yields can push up to ~250% depending on how far you go. but the important part for me is that the base design prioritizes capital preservation first, not max risk.

this morning, on my way back, i heard a man say something in pidgin:

“people wey learn handwork dey laugh people wey go school.”

it made me pause.

not because it’s completely true. and not because it’s completely wrong.

but because it shows how mixed up the conversation around value has become.

it’s not handwork vs school. it’s usefulness vs waiting.

school without direction leaves people stranded.

handwork without thinking can trap you in survival mode.

the ones “laughing” didn’t just learn a trade. they learned how to apply themselves where there’s demand.

the problem isn’t education. it’s going through life without a plan for how you’ll be useful.

so what do you think really matters more today?
