WTF: A woman in court testifying to overturn a Texas law that forced her to give birth to a fetus with no chance of living got so upset she just THREW UP.
THANK YOU Samantha Casiano, for sharing your pain, to help so many others.
But what the Texas AG said in court was insane:
First, they said you and the other 12 women sharing your dangerous experiences of Texas' anti-abortion law are only doing so because you are on an "ideological crusade".
Next, the Texas AG team ADMITTED you were harmed but said it's "in the past".
THEN, when one woman testified about being denied an abortion for her nonviable pregnancy, they had the balls to OBJECT and say her testimony was IRRELEVANT.
I'm so furious right now. My home state of Texas is f**king nightmare.
Join me in thanking these brave 13 women and Center for Reproductive Rights for forcing Greg Abbott's Texas to hear these stories in court.
Because we can't let Republican leaderships lead us back to the middle ages. 👇
I don’t know if y’all knew this, but I grew up Mormon. My parents were really strict while I was growing up about this, but I have some good news. Both my parents have left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to support me, their gay son. (1/2)
There is a beginning and end to every story; this is the end of my story, but this is not goodbye; it is a see you later. In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Friends and family, THANK YOU. Please continue my fight to #EndALS.
In light of SCOTUS’ recent bullshit, a reminder:
We have a choice in all this, and we get to make our voices heard next year. Stay pissed. Take the House back. Keep the Senate. Put Biden back in the White House, and we can fix this abhorrently broken institution.
Cardona: Markwayne Mullin had more than $1.4 million in pandemic loans forgiven. He represents 489,000 eligible borrowers that were turned down today. Marjorie Taylor Greene had more than $180,000 forgiven. She represents 91,800 eligible borrowers who were turned down today
BREAKING—
Following the Supreme Court's decision, President Biden just announced he will seek student loan forgiveness through a new path under the Higher Education Act of 1965.
A provision in the act allows the Secretary of Education to compromise, waive or release federal student loans under certain circumstances.
Texas Republicans passed a bill to ban “preferential treatment based on race” at state universities.
But they voted against my amendment to ban preferential treatment for kids of legislators.
They're against affirmative action unless it benefits the wealthy and well-connected.
1/ Not only am I furious for my brothers and sisters in Parkland who lost their children, but I also fear this sets a precedent for the 376 officers who stood by for 77 minutes as my son and his classmates and teachers were murdered.
