WeRateDogs turns 10 years old today! A very silly idea to numerically objectify dogs has become one of the kindest and most powerful online communities ever. I never knew what this could be until you all showed me. Here's to many more good dogs ❤️
@TheGautrain has much #Sludge (the opposite of #Nudge) - you can only use contactless payments to tap in and out of parking for up to 5 days, bicycles are only allowed in a bike bag - not surprising that ridership is struggling @mec_transportGP@Dotransport please #FightSludge
@TheGautrain@tacticallyurban I think it is shocking that I was told I was at risk of not being able to continue on my journey from Pretoria to Rosebank stations with my folding e-bike. Use of compact/folding bikes should be promoted as is the case in the rest of the world. Help!
26 yrs after the Energy Policy White Paper recommended breaking up Eskom’s monopoly & 5 yrs after the President’s Eskom Sustainability Task Team recommended the unbundling of Transmission, the Electricity Regulation Amendment Act has finally been passed 🥂 https://t.co/Ya959zHdxa
Mass identities are based on fictional stories, not on scientific facts. Nowadays, much of the division of humans into massive groups still depends on religious myths. So in the 21st century religions don’t bring rain, they don’t cure illnesses, they don’t build bombs – but they do get to determine who are ‘us’ and who are ‘them’, who should we cure and who should we bomb. Most religions have a lot in common, but they are too often weaponized to generate division and conflict.

Enjoyed presenting at a session on serial acquisitions at OECD. Much interest in the SA experience. Key lessons- flexibility required in assessment, consider the market dynamically and monitor. Background note and resources in link.

“No human society has ever cornered the market on absolute truth. The truth is that everything changes, people are never satisfied and identities are fictional.
What it means to be Christian or Spanish or even a man or a woman depends on the stories people believe. It’s changed many times in the past, and will keep changing in the future.
You won’t find the truth by killing people who disagree with you – you’ll just sink into ignorance.”

I wonder if this means @rainSouthAfrica will replace @CellC as the fourth largest mobile operator? This will be an exciting sector to watch over the coming years.
ICASA spectrum auction results in expanded fifth mobile operator in South Africa (@rainSouthAfrica ), raising R14.5bn for the fiscus. Expect lower data prices soon from a lower cost, more competitive mobile sector. @AcaciaEconomics assisted @ICASA_org with the auction design.
