I find it quite disheartening that the frozen US “fresh” hops are getting everyone so excited. You know we have actual fresh ones here? There are some great new British hops around at the moment, I brewed green hop beers in September with Ernest and Emperor, both mind blowing.
There are more than 500,000 vacancies across food and drink businesses which is why we need Covid-19 Recovery Visas to enable the supply chain to recruit critical roles 👩🌾

Despite the late season the hops we are growing look fabulous. And then there are the hops that we’re not growing due to COVID. #idledhops#grubbedhops#nocontracts #50%downonbudget… please go to the pub, please choose cask ale and insist on @Britishhops. Thank you.

@OntCraftBrewers@fordnation@PBethlenfalvy@StanChoMPP@douglasdowney We've lost many good growers in the past few years. The old hurdles of quantity, price, and quality no longer exist in local hop production. A viable ontario agricultural industry is dying on account of lack of brewer support. This reg could have saved many farmers. 2/2
@OntCraftBrewers@fordnation@PBethlenfalvy@StanChoMPP@douglasdowney The final nail in the coffin of Ontario Hop production? This was a project that began with the concept brewers supporting local farms should be able to sell beer at farmers' markets. A win for the Ont brewing industry that sensibly should have included ont hop production 1/2
Our fresh new release this week? Well, it’s not really a beer, it’s something else entirely. We’re excited to share our new Cascade Sparkling Hop Water with you! https://t.co/OEG8UhVUxS
@davidsunlee @Jason_Tremblay@Ben_T_Johnson@muddyyorklady This wasn't pandemic related. Happened a couple years ago but we're still sad. Lesson learned. Some people are crummy
@Jason_Tremblay@Ben_T_Johnson@muddyyorklady @davidsunlee We've had a brewery do the exact same thing with hops. Buy a couple times, then place a large order and ghost. It sure makes you appreciate the good customers.
#OnThisDay 1948: "Father, mother, children, the dog, the newest baby and piles of household goods all set out for the pleasant and profitable business of hop picking."
Newsreel reported on Londoners taking their annual hop picking holiday.
A wonderful piece of social history.
@Lot17HopYard@TavistockHopCo@VQH_Farms@Old4thHops We ran centennial monday-wednesday, and switched to cascade Thursday. Cascade is right in the window, and Chinook not ready yet. Thinking we were a bit late on the centennial.
