Thanks to @SLBotanicalInst and everyone who joined our walk on Saturday. Somehow we managed to dodge the heavy showers and had a lovely afternoon touring round the Octopus Garden, the Rouel Estate, Blue Anchor Lane and Shuttleworth Park in the #Bermondsey sunshine!

Deadline for new tree-planting requests for 2024 - 2025 planting season: 12 noon on 25/06/2024
We're really excited to see our new planting coming through in Shuttleworth Park. Look out for English bluebells popping up, hedgerows for wildlife, trees blossoming, two new raingardens and flowers planted to help pollinators #GreeningTheBlue#Bermondsey
A wonder to behold! Is this the tallest cherry tree in London? The 1930s blocks are five storeys-high and the tree is twice as tall and currently in full, magnificent bloom. Take a stroll up Tennis Street from Long Lane and look right to see it in all its glory. @TheStreetTree
A 7 spot ladybird enjoying a dandelion in the #OctopusGarden at the weekend. This was a grey, flytipped street corner until we depaved it in 2022 and planted it with 100% native species plants for #biodiversity#GrowBackGreener
C’mon @UKLabour@Keir_Starmer@AngelaRayner@SteveReedMP please get a rock solid pledge in your manifesto that assures us that you would put a complete end to this unspeakable barbarity once and for all . If you want our votes we want a promise to protect our wildlife . Please RT
Who knows about the trees on the triangle at the northern approach to the #RotherhitheTunnel? 3 out 5 have already gone and according to a notice the others are to be removed “after recent complaints”. @TfL can you explain this and the “revised highway environment” mentioned?
Thank you everyone who came to see us down sunny Bermondsey Street yesterday at the fabulous #BermondsStFest. Lots of great conversations and #TreeHugger T-shirts sold! The oat-coloured one is back in stock. Get yours here: https://t.co/HcNvTVdrLr
My response to the backlash from cleb gardeners about rewilding. I do hope they listen. It's not about abandoning your garden. It's about thinking about nature first.

It's #BlossomDay! Apple petals are still tightly furled against the cold but the pretty cooking apple, Arthur Turner, is blooming in #RouelCommunityOrchard, Morello cherry is in its prime, quince in the #JoySlide orchard looks chilly! Sp. Unknown flowering cherry showing off!
