This is exactly what has started putting me off about Rashmika’s public appearances lately.

Why this constant forced Telangana slang and addressing people as “రా… రేయ్…” at almost every event? There is absolutely nothing wrong with Telangana Telugu or Srikakulam, Rayalaseema, Chittoor or any other regional dialect. Every dialect has its own beauty when it comes naturally. But deliberately forcing an accent and repeatedly using “రా/రేయ్” while addressing an audience comes across as artificial rather than relatable.

And it’s not just the slang. Some of her comments at other events make me wonder how aware she is of Telugu cinema’s history and audience.

The “no hero wore a saree like Allu Arjun” comment completely overlooks generations of actors like NTR, ANR, Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Chiranjeevi and others who appeared in female attire—some even carrying entire films in such roles. You can praise @alluarjun without erasing everyone who came before him.

Then asking Telugu audiences to “own” Suriya because Tamil audiences welcomed her was equally strange. Telugu audiences embraced Suriya long before Rashmika entered films. #Ghajini was a massive success here back in 2005 and helped establish his Telugu following.

Rashmika is undoubtedly talented, but trying this hard to sound “local” while making sweeping statements about an industry and audience with such a long memory can have the opposite effect.

Just be yourself. You don’t need the “రా… రేయ్…” to connect with Telugu audiences.

I like Rashmika as an actress, but some of her recent stage talk genuinely puts me off.

The forced Telangana slang and repeatedly addressing people as “రా… రేయ్…” doesn’t sound natural or respectful to me. There is nothing wrong with Telangana Telugu - or Srikakulam, Rayalaseema, Chittoor or any other dialect. They’re beautiful when they’re natural. But deliberately forcing an accent or being overly singular/informal with a public audience feels unnecessary.

Then come statements like “no hero wore a saree like @alluarjun.” Telugu cinema has a long history of male actors appearing in female attire - NTR, ANR, Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Chiranjeevi and others. Appreciating Allu Arjun doesn’t require forgetting everyone who came before him.

And asking Telugu audiences to “own” @Suriya_offl because Tamil audiences welcomed her? 🤔

Telugu audiences embraced Suriya long before Rashmika entered films. #Ghajini was a huge success here back in 2005 and helped build his strong Telugu following.

Talent aside, a little more awareness of Telugu cinema and its audience would help. Trying too hard to sound “local” can sometimes come across as artificial rather than relatable.

What happened
• Several Essel Group companies defaulted on loans from banks and NBFCs.
• Subhash Chandra had given personal guarantees for many of those loans.
• Lenders then started personal insolvency proceedings against him (as guarantor), not just against the companies.
• NCLT approved a repayment plan under which he pays ₹6.5 crore. This settles the admitted claims against him personally (₹22,006 crore).
What this actually settles
• It discharges Subhash Chandra’s personal liability as guarantor for the debts covered in the plan. After the plan is implemented, those creditors generally cannot chase him personally for the remaining amount.
• The plan is binding on all creditors (including those who voted against it) only with respect to his personal guarantee liability.
What it does not settle
• It does not wipe out the loans of the companies (the principal borrowers). The Essel Group entities still owe the money.
• Creditors can still pursue the companies separately for recovery.
• NCLT itself noted that resolving his personal insolvency could actually help creditors recover more later from the principal debtors.
So the short version is: **his personal guarantee liability is being settled for ₹6.5 crore. The companies’ loans themselves are not fully settled by this order.**

Obsession (2026) - I can definitely appreciate the film for what it managed to achieve on a microbudget, and also for the thematic subtext running beneath the surface. Those are probably the strongest aspects of the movie for me.

But beyond that, I didn’t find the story, plot, or overall viewing experience particularly new or out of the box. Maybe the hype raised my expectations too much, but I kept waiting for that “now I understand why everyone is talking about this” moment - and it never really came.

A commendable microbudget success with interesting thematic layers, absolutely. But as an overall cinematic experience, I personally found the hype a little overrated.

Good achievement. Interesting ideas. Just not as extraordinary as the buzz made it sound.

An interesting and rather thought-provoking aspect of Indian paternity law.

Under Section 112 of the Evidence Act (now Section 116 BSA), where a child is born during a valid marriage, legitimacy is conclusively presumed unless non-access between the spouses during the relevant period of conception is established.

Consider this situation: husband and wife are living together and have sexual access. The wife also has a relationship with another man and conceives. A scientifically conclusive DNA test establishes that the husband is not the biological father and another man is.

Yet DNA evidence by itself may not automatically displace the statutory presumption when non-access cannot be established.

The Supreme Court has examined different dimensions of this issue in Nandlal Wasudeo Badwaik (2014), Aparna Ajinkya Firodia (2023) and, more recently, Ivan Rathinam v. Milan Joseph, 2025 INSC 115.

What makes this particularly interesting is that the consequences potentially go beyond maintenance and raise questions concerning legal status, succession and inheritance.

I understand the underlying public-policy objective: an innocent child should not suffer because of the conduct of the parents.

But it leaves me with a difficult jurisprudential question:

When biological paternity has been conclusively established through DNA, should protecting the child's legitimacy extend to imposing continuing legal and proprietary consequences upon a husband scientifically proven not to be the biological father?

Where should the law draw the line between protecting the child, respecting biological truth, and protecting the rights of the non-biological husband?

This doesn’t sound true at all.

Yes, caste still exists in India, but mainly in the context of marriages and some village social life (and even that is slowly fading).

In cities, hotels, and business settings - especially a place like the Westin - there is zero caste system operating. Staff don’t care about anyone’s caste.

Legal + Ethical View on H-1B “Side Hustle” Debate

Under U.S. immigration law, an H-1B visa is strictly employer-specific, not a general work permit.

Legal Position:
• Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) 1184(c) = Work only as per approved petition
• 8 CFR 214.2(h) = Employment tied to specific employer

Any work outside this = Unauthorized Employment

USCIS Interpretation:
• Even unpaid / part-time / after-hours work counts
• Active involvement in a side business = violation
• Only passive investment is allowed

Spouse Exception:
An H-4 visa holder with EAD can legally run a business
But that right does NOT extend to the H-1B holder

Legal Consequences:
• Status violation
• Visa revocation / removal risk
• Green card issues under INA 245(c)

Now the Ethical Question:

Is the law too restrictive?

An H-1B professional:
• Pays taxes
• Contributes to the economy
• Has skills beyond one employer

Yet is legally barred from:
• Earning more through legitimate means
• Building small businesses
• Creating jobs

If the system benefits from their productivity, why restrict lawful economic participation?

Policy Thought:
Perhaps it’s time to rethink H-1B:

• Allow limited secondary work (regulated & taxed)
• Permit entrepreneurship with compliance safeguards
• Move from “employer lock-in” = “skill-based contribution model”

This isn’t about bypassing law -
It’s about modernizing it for economic reality.

Conclusion:
Legally clear violation (if active involvement proven)
Ethically strong case for reform

Now that @AdityaDharFilms has EXPLODED a ATOMIC BOMB right under the film industry, what is shocking is the loud silence from the rest of the film industry .

I don’t know whether this is because the #Dhurandhar2 ‘s devastating explosion has hurled everyone else in the film industry so far into OUTER SPACE that their applause cannot reach here due to the long distances , OR whether they’re huddled in denial, whispering to each other , “It’s just propaganda… it will go away soon ,” so that they can crawl back and resume making their same old repetitive films.
OR are they just paralysed by the film’s sheer brilliance , realising that whatever they’ve been making or planning to make , now simply cannot measure up?
But isn’t it extremely unwise to ignore a DINOSAUR like #Dhurandhar2 staring you in the face and BREATHING FIRE into your eyes with its BOX OFFICE ROAR shaking the very ground beneath their feet , how can anyone be so foolish enough to look away?

That said, I'm genuinely curious: Why do you think women in the industry are more vocal about the Sivaji situation compared to similar comments from politicians or bigger stars? Not trying to challenge you at all. Just wondering if it's because Sivaji feels less intimidating, or if there's another factor at play?

Manoj, while Sivaji may not have articulated his point well and came across as insulting, his core concern about dressing appropriately for the occasion and place isn't entirely off-base. Women (and men) are absolutely free and independent to choose their attire, no doubt about it. However, there's a line where it can cross into disregarding public decency, like some outfits worn by Urfi Javed or few others on Mumbai streets these days. It's always wise to consider the context and event. Sivaji could have expressed this more respectfully without shaming anyone. Let's promote mutual respect over judgment.

Beautiful sentiment on teaching self-respect early. It's empowering and sets a strong foundation for healthy relationships. That said, at toddler age, the message might not land yet (though repetition helps), and making such a private moment public feels a bit performative. What about flipping it for boys too?
