Not alarming at all... ‘Effectively irreversible’: Canada warming twice as fast as the rest of the world, new scientific report shows – National Post https://t.co/veIDk7Jcer
Q5 I think there are so many ways to tackle this problem. If it were easy it would have been solved already. Tackling root causes and mental health are big. Meeting people where they are is important. #SocInnChat
@ElisainCalgary I was thinking about "well-meaning" outsiders who helicopter in and out of social problems in developing countries as they see fit. People who don't understand the local context or problems. #socinnchat
It seems like everyone has a different definition in mind when they talk about social innovation. Mount Royal University student @KTabuli digs into a few perspectives in this guest blog post. #socinn#ABSI

The Tuesday #SocInnChat (March12, 6-7pm) will focus on Innovation in Developing Countries. Excited to be hosting @ChristineGoudie who will engage with our audience's questions & share about #socialimpact of her #biomedical design projects in developing countries @HunterHubYYC
I used to do something similar with my students and though they struggled at first, the challenge to come up with the WORST ideas became very liberating for them and freed them to take risks they wouldn't have otherwise.
@SanchitChopra_ Agree! There are companies now like Benevity that do goodness consultancy work and help other larger corporations manage their funds in order to be able to provide the greatest impact #SocInnChat
I'd be interested in how folks have done this for themselves. Personally what are the most important relationships to build your own ecosystem? #socinnchat
For me Q 5 is not, SHOULD they but should it be mandatory that students do this? And how to keep it from being another box that gets checked? #socinnchat
.@SanchitChopra_ would students be willing to take a field trip out of the university for these networking opportunities? There are TONS happening in #socialinnovation in #yyc every month #socinnchat
.@ABSIConnect I think your point is important. In the University space we have to be careful about breaking out of our own silo and engaging with the rest of the world. With making sure that the great research is being shared so we can learn and always do better. #socinnchat
