I went to the shelter to drop old towels. Just a quick 15-minute lunch break.
Then I heard them. Two pitbull puppies crying in a kennel. Not barking—crying. Small, sad sounds like humans.
“What's their story?” I asked.
Volunteer said: “Owner gave them up today. Didn’t know dog was pregnant. Kept mom, dumped puppies. Said nobody wants pit puppies now.”
I saw them: caramel boy with pink nose, white girl with one brown ear. Stuck together like they couldn’t separate.
“They never left mom… or each other,” she said.
I called my husband.
“Don’t freak out.”
“How many?”
“Two.”
“Pitbull puppies? Okay.”
Eight months later: Biscuit 55 pounds, pure chaos. Gravy 48 pounds, full attitude. Still sleep together. Still cry if apart. Still have towels in trunk. Never dropped them.

The Tourism Times has reported that the BBC broadcasted a video interview of Dawa Sherpa from inside the intensive care unit of HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu without the knowledge or consent of his family or hospital authorities. The interview was filmed while the Everest guide was receiving critical medical treatment after surviving seven days alone in Everest's death zone.

The broadcast has drawn strong criticism from Dawa's wife, Damu Sherpa, who said neither she nor other family members were approached for permission. She questioned how access was granted to the highly restricted ICU area, noting that even close relatives faced strict limitations due to the sensitivity of his condition. HAMS Hospital has also confirmed that it will investigate how the interview was conducted.

The incident has raised serious concerns about patient privacy, media ethics, and the treatment of vulnerable individuals. Dawa remains under intensive medical care for frostbite, dehydration, and injuries suffered during his survival ordeal after being left behind high on Everest and later found alive near Crampon Point while crawling toward base camp.
