@935Curr I am uncomfortable hearing about the “bootstrap narrative” because it is demonstrably false. Yet for many years teaching American lit, I used it as an example.

@KogaChilume @935Curr @samanthavasy I have had classes of learning support students in the past and they are amazing! Kids who generally hate English who eventually figure out they can do it - it’s really great!
