@935Curr Constant messages in media, advertisements, movies, websites, etc. that “normal” means “white”. Unequal representation can have dangerous effects on the quality of one’s life and how they perceive themselves.

@KogaChilume @cmachado3 @935Curr @kimmykimikimme So true! I’ve found it’s especially difficult recently with the pandemic teachers are so overwhelmed a lot of students aren’t getting the accommodations/and modifications they need to be successful!

@samanthavasy @935Curr @kimmykimikimme @KogaChilume It beaks my hear when I hear teachers say “lower kids” or “I have the worst kids” or “they haven’t been identified yet.” Differentiate! This is not a new concept.

@cmachado3 @935Curr I always feel like a lot of people simply avoid interactions with adults and children with disabilities because they are different from the dominant group and they are scared they won’t know what to say or how to interact!
