At work (a restaurant) someone asked to speak to "the owner's wife", but she is actually one of the owners, not her husband. I was stunned!

@ChloeLP16 @935Curr I experienced a use of gendered language confronted my mom in a hospital by a doctor in Afghanistan. I talked with the doctor seriously and he claimed that it was unintentional. I know it’s heartbreaking when employees are not mindful of their language and attitudes.

@DeafOn4Wheels I teach preservice teachers. We analyzed the books in young children’s classroom and found very few that included people with disabilities. Representation matters. You matter. I want to do better and integrate content and discussions into the curriculum . @935Curr
