This is Debbie Lynne's friend, Toni. I wanted to let friends of Deb's know that she went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 7. I will miss her greatly but rejoice I will see her again someday.
Watching from afar, it is quite interesting that SBC throws conservatives a bone on the female pastor issue, but completely refuses challenge on spending transparency, publishing heresy, and opposing abortion abolition. #SBC2023
I am unclear how women serving in the assembly of the church as pastor or teacher of men can believe they are serving Christ and honoring Him since they deny and disobey the clear teaching of Scripture. Likewise, the leaders who encourage and advocate their doing so.
God is inclusive. The call to repent is for everyone (Acts 17:30).
God is exclusive. Only those who repent and believe in Christ will inherit the kingdom (John 3:16, 36).
@Autumn10434 @godlywomanhood@AnnaGraceWood I agree. Yet sometimes she goes beyond Scripture, such as her views on voting. But yes, her attitude is much more godly than Lori's.
The danger of hyper-patriarchy (such as @godlywomanhood promotes) is that it can push women into a knee-jerk reaction of feminism. Two years ago, interactions with @AnnaGraceWood almost affected me that way. Praise God they didn't.
@mrrusselltaylor @NathanielJolly I assure you, no complementarian in ANY way accommodates egalitarianism! I am absolutely baffled that we're considered compromising. We've always stood against egalitarians. We always will.
@NathanielJolly @SharonDevol Exactly. Complementarians reject feminisim, while also affirming that men and women equal in terms of salvation. We voluntarily and joyfully submit to male leadership in the home and in church.
@MichelleDLesley@jmmooreo It almost pushed me toward feminism at one point. It didn't, praise God, but the temptation was certainly there as a knee-jerk reaction to the legalism.
