@AimTrue7 I love that title! I want to be a "baby elder" when I grow up. Instead my son said, "You're almost half a century old, mom." π He meant it as a compliment, but the comment could go either way.
@AimTrue7 My reality was minimized and I learned to doubt my perception. I'm still learning to accept the true severity of that reality and trust my discernment and wisdom.
@richoblation I'm feeling content today after hours spent outside doing yardwork with sunshine, a breeze, and birds singing. The past weeks have been learning to accept grief so this peace is wonderful.
@AimTrue7 I have started reminding myself (frequently) that it was not my job to stop my childhood abuser. This has been HUGE for my inner child/parts to hear and has to caused many tearful releases of guilt and shame.
@writemeganwrite AI summarized a personal email for me the other day and it made me SO ANGRY. Seeing my emotions and reactions summarized was belittling. Reading a summary of the other person's response made it feel like they were trying to pacify me. I hated it.
@writemeganwrite Happy birthday to her! And happy anniversary for becoming a mom! Don't forget to celebrate how much you've learned, grown, healed, and overcome in those 14 years. (Coincidentally, my youngest turns 13 tomorrow and also LOVES taking pictures of the sky.)
@AimTrue7 I want to be on the water with you!!! Our weather went from 70F yesterday to 30F and snowing today. Nevermind the 70 mph wind gusts that knocked out power three days ago.
@amydoublet What about when touch in childhood was abusive? Or the need for touch was the "invitation" to be abused? How can we get past that learned belief? It doesn't work to just intellectually know it's not true.
@AimTrue7@MarkTonerX There is SO much to grieve. It can be very heavy. I've found that allowing the grief to exist and acknowledge it, allows it to move through.
Some people simply donβt have the capacity to love you in the way that you need.
Thatβs on them not you. You canβt abandon yourself to make them love you more. That takes away the love thatβs already there.
@writemeganwrite Since I was working yesterday, I'm a bit late. I really enjoyed walking out of work into the fresh, crisp nighttime air after a 12 hour shift. Even better is knowing I have the next 2 days off and one of them will be sunny.
