we have normalised overconsumption. listening to a podcast while we walk, scrolling reels in the toilet, listening to music while we cook, watching a show on Netflix while we eat. it’s as if there is NO breathing space for your mind. you’re constantly trying to fill the void, the stillness and yet here you’re complaining about feeling groggy and demotivated.
happy new year. remember that the ethic you develop about you is in the subtle, the small, the micro decisions you make about the ways you think, feel, act. there is no gesture so small that doing it consistently wont change you. you are always free to change. love you. be good
College is essentially a walkable city with good infrastructure, full of civilians working toward self-betterment. There's still a respect for expertise and facts, as well as community and forgiveness. Leaving that is tough.
