I am increasingly convinced we have a reproducibility crisis in Ecology because of the abuse of statistics and its explanatory power, particularly of complex models and analysis that many researchers do not fully understand. This paper should be an alarm call.

Loss of non-renewable phosphorous (P) from land to rivers has polluted waters + threatened food production.
Has P loss decreased with better management? TP loss has risen in US rivers 1980-2019, largely due to rising river flow, albeit declining TP conc. https://t.co/q1g83q51KS
