@davidgura I’m guessing regional accents might have a lot to do with preference! Realized I do pronounce it “an istoric” and to keep the sounds open (“a historic”) FEELS choppy and difficult to my mouth.....like verbal gymnastics! west coast accent, here.

I’d guess regional accents have plenty to do with the strong preferences here.

I prefer “an historic” since I prefer an almost-absent “H” sound. sounds more like “an istoric.” rolls nicely off the tongue.
