Information about our upcoming Glow Golf scramble tournament!
This was a great time last year, and we’ve been looking forward to it for quite some time. Sign up to play and support the Obion County Central Rebels football team!
I try very hard not to get involved in politics. However, my job is to promote, advocate, and support the public education system for almost 52,000 students. The proposed voucher legislation lacks the accountability, transparency and oversight that are required of public ed.
What behaviors are needed to build a healthy team? Here are my top 5:
▪Show gratitude
▪Invest in people
▪Listen
▪Celebrate achievement
▪Be someone worthy of trust
What are yours?
Due to the possibility of bad weather, the Obion County Central basketball games at Dyer County have been moved to Monday evening, January 30th. Play will begin with the OCCHS Lady Rebels tipping off at 6:00 in Newbern. See you tomorrow evening!
We are proud to present our highly anticipated 2023 House Draft video! Our coaches did a great job and had a blast doing this. The players even got in on the fun this year. Everyone remember it’s all in good fun and meant as a joke. https://t.co/fm6fBGkpWn
@JonGordon11 Yes! As a high school school counselor, THIS is what I tell students all day, every day. The lack of hope that is a by-product of the lack of understanding of what their purpose is can be gut wrenching.
Our students need more recess, unstructured play, Physical Education, all the Arts, and extracurricular activities! That's how we make their social/emotional health a priority.
You weren't an accident. You weren't mass produced. You aren't an assembly-line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on the earth by the Master Craftsman.
Be more than just a networker. Instead:
1. Add value to people’s lives.
2. Lead with love, not an agenda.
3. Find ways to serve.
4. Show you care.
5. Encourage others.
6. Look to give instead of receive.
7. Connect people.
There’s never a bad time to thank the soldiers and civilians worldwide who risk their lives for democracy and freedom, the doctors and nurses who risk their lives on the front lines, and the journalists who risk their lives to tell us the story.
But today’s a great time for it.
Our recruiting information night was a success! A big thank you to Heather Kendall for coming to speak about the academic side of recruiting and college acceptance! #DominateTheDay

Great leaders don’t succeed because they’re great. They succeed because they bring out the greatness in others through service and sacrifice. Thank you Veterans! #Veteransday
I asked a school principal, a football coach and business leader when their team became a powerful team. They all said when we served each other instead of ourselves. We before me!
Treat people right. Appreciate them, encourage them, support them and make them feel like they matter (because they do). Do this at home, at work, at school, at the store, etc. Do this with people you know and people you don't. Try your best every day to make someone else's day.
