2/ That headline was in the Santa Barbara Daily News and the Independent, Nov 16, 1918. "The average person doesn't know how to take care of a mask... and it not cleansed the thing soon becomes a veritable bacteria incubator." - Looking around you... has anything changed?

DCXC opened 2018 season hosting our home meet the Field Run Classic. This meet turned out to be the largest (over 1600 runners) & most competitive (eventual 6A B&G State Champs, 5A B&G StateChamps, 4A G StateChamps, 5 other podium teams. Wow!!!!!

We’d love to welcome @Red_Coyote to come check out this awesome Oklahoma XC event in 2019 and maybe show off their awesome stuff!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Who could forget the spectacular rain fest at the Guthrie cottonwood flats meet! DCXC swept all 4 divisions (varsity girls, varsity boys, jv girls, jv boys) which would become a welcome theme for meets. Great meet both host Guthrie & sponsor @Red_Coyote

So fitting to @davidjriden ‘s quote after “no one cares about Texas”- let’s backtrack to week before when DCXC went to @MarcusXCTrack for Marcus I Labor Day weekend: girls 15th of 32 in elite race & boys 11 of 36 in elite race. We were reminded to care about Texas again later :)

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Next DCXC traveled to Sand Springs where we again swept all 4 divisions & conquered another levee along banks of Arkansas River. We also had to navigate a thousand angry soccer parents & their cars while 56 games were scheduled at the park that morning.

DCXC’s annual trip to Chile Pepper XC @ChilePepperFest in Fayetteville Arkansas yielded its usual great memories&results despite harrowing white knuckle drive in torrential rainstorm from OKC to Tulsa. We are truly thankful to The Lord for His gracious & watchful care over us.

After Chile Pepper DCXC tidied up regular season sweeping all 4 divisions at mustang harrier meet & watching our JV crew shine at Edmond pre-state! Photos courtesy of our own Titus Miles Riden (he may be a pro one day) (pic of his bro Emmett Cruz & his PopPop) :)

DCXC started post-season w/ bang hosting COAC conference meet & once again sweeping all 4 divisions for 4th time this season!!!! Weather was beautiful, course was perfect & times were jaw dropping fast! 19:32 top 5 avg for V girls & 16:24 top 5 avg for V boys! Incredible day!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Thank you to all DCXC parents supporters & alumni who came & helped! Thanks to @dcfireems for their help there & our home meet! Thanks to @FineDesignsGP for their apparel! We look forward to hosting both events in 2019!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Regionals was success w/girls as regional champs &boys as regional runner-ups. Course was a quagmire w/ “swim” sections after days of rain but we survived & advanced. And The Lord kept us all safe&healthy & that’s the important thing! Look how sharp we look in our dress whites!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

6A State Meet- what a day! DCXC won first ever 6A State Championships in program & school history both girls & boys! Never felt so calm & good about group going in for which it was going to be close - so much faith! And we showed up & did what we’d done all year. Amazing!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Fun fact: Deer Creek was smallest school by ADM to even qualify for OSSAA 6A State Meet on either side & won both boys & girls!

[DeerCreekXC @DeerCreekXC]

Thank you to @EyeAmTruth and @OkMileSplit for coming out to cover both our DCXC home meet and the COAC meet we hosted!!!
