I couldn’t wait one more day to have this meeting, to say thank you on behalf of a grateful nation, to educators for their heroic commitment to students during this pandemic.
You’ve been so strong; and we will be strong in our support for you.
@Rogers4Texas As a teacher, I can assure you that what the SBOE does on a daily basis to the teachers and students of this state is horrendous- I keep underestimating how low they will go
@Rogers4Texas He is a total embarrassment- he and Ted Cruz make me hate living in Texas and the fact that Cornyn and Crenshaw stand by and do and say nothing make me ill.
Let’s play a game called...”Try to Imagine what Teachers are Going Through”. Dentists: imagine you are doing two different fillings on two different patients at the same time. Now imagine one of them is virtual and you are trying to walk a family member through it on zoom.
I think I need to put this as plainly as I can, and I apologize for shouting: PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE LIVE PERFORMING ARTS AREN'T JUST 'NOT WORKING' – THEY ARE *PREVENTED* FROM ENGAGING IN THE WORK AND CAREERS FOR WHICH THEY WERE TRAINED.
@FrancisBrennan You, sir, disgust me. It is exactly this kind of attitude that has permeated the party the last 4 years that has lead me to leave the Republicans behind.
It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.
@Rogers4Texas Part of that may because TEA is requiring a document every day turned in virtually for proof of attendance. Each district can mandate the type of assignment- but as a former Englisher- sometimes we’re extra😜
