This is why it’s disturbing to me that these are the folks responsible for deciding MVP because they’re not even aware of how certain metrics that they wanna use to justify their decisions work.

DrTG measures how many points per 100 possessions a team allows when a player is on the floor. That’s a metric heavily influenced by the team.

Luka’s DRTG on basketball reference is 114. Jokic’s is 112, but somehow that gets Jokic in a different tier even though by your own admission, Luka’s the best offensive player in the game.

Individually, Luka does rank 7th in steals, but I know, that doesn’t mean he’s a great defender.

Well in the month of March, the Lakers are giving up 10(!) points per 100 more with Luka off the court vs on.

He’s top ten is steals and crushing everyone else in every O category. SGA doesn’t guard the top 1-3 on opp team and teams don’t make their entire strategy to stop cause his team (besides pushing off flopping) and the Spurs are deep. Luka is the best player in NBA now! His dominance has been seen since 86’ MJ. Stop this narrative cause very year your trying to change the criteria.

He’s also just doesn’t like white player and JJ called him out on a show when Jovic was ahead in mvp voting 3 years ago. Perk was basically saying that voters for nba were raciest when actually it’s his hidden secret. Hater!
Go watch the replay. JJ lit him up!! Perk sucked anyway. Luka should be way up MVP, doing more with less, has a better per poss than SGA by a mile actually tied with Thompson and numbers overall are better in Scoribg, RB, As, St, usage.

@HoodiiMamba Well we replaced a 32 DFS with a 26 yr old better shooter, playmaker and defender that can still jump for 2.5 mil less. Love DFS but his knees are shot. This kid moves without the ball constantly and great defender.
