@moonpolysoft I agree with your absurdity point. I think part of the challenge is that more people (anecdotally) are asking system design questions expecting a formulaic answer. Surfacing how tradeoffs are made loses in favor of guiding you to pick the “right” vendor services for the problem.

I hacked together some code that pulls body measurements from my scale and plots the data points on @HelloTidbyt. The workflow to keep things up-to-date runs on GitHub Actions periodically.

@tmcw @HelloTidbyt Great write up. Just got mine. You may have already considered this, but as an alternative to the Pi approach, I set up a GitHub Actions workflow on a schedule to push the output of custom applets to Tidbyt’s servers.
