2,123 people have been arrested by ICE in the S.F. area since January 20, 2025.
By cross-referencing three datasets released this month, on ICE arrests, detentions and deportations, Mission Local was able to follow the journeys of those arrested:

This is a terrifying case. DHS did not recognize DACA as a protective status, & proceeded to arrest & detain Diaz. With the massive increase in enforcement that is about to start, are DACA recipients also enforcement targets? https://t.co/4YAhkfCx4k
Yesterday, local drag performer Hilary Rivers was taken by ICE at a scheduled immigration appointment after participating int eh Miss & Mr. Safe Latino Pageant. I wrote about it here: https://t.co/laxi9U7JsZ
The Asylum Denial Machine
In April, immigration judges set two alarming records by closing over 11,000 asylum cases and denying 80% of them in a single month. An avalanche of asylum denials is just beginning.

BREAKING: U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) interrupts DHS press conference in Los Angeles, where Homeland Security Secretary Noem is speaking, is forcibly removed by what appears to be plain-clothed security or law enforcement officers.
ICE is now chasing down migrant farmworkers in the Central Valley as they harvest the fruits that feed 40% of America.
Of all the noncitizens to target, have no idea why they would target the folks who literally feed us. Make it make sense.
(From the LA Times)
This is not true. @ImmDef client Andry Hernandez Romero’s asylum case is ongoing in the US, we have a hearing next week, so there is no final deportation order. And he has absolutely no criminal history in the US or Venezuela. He entered the US through CBP One and broke no laws.
What’s the new ICE scam to arrest and deport folks? An immigrant comes to immigration court for a hearing. In other words they SHOW UP when they are supposed to. The ICE attorney tells the judge that ICE is dismissing the deportation case, stopping the person from presenting their asylum or other case before the judge. The person leaves the courtroom, and ICE officers arrest the person in the hallway and issue an administrative deportation order against them, making it almost impossible for the person to now seek asylum. Automatic deprivation of due process. Nice right? This is what Trump and his minions mean when they say they are deporting “criminals.” People who show up for the hearings—NOT criminals.
