@bryancsk@lu_sichu Stretch tuning is different from temperament! “Sounding in tune” = overtones of the low register line up with the fundamentals of the middle register, moreso than whether fundamentals of the middle register are exact integer multiples of the low ones
Isn’t this UK data? I strongly suspect it’s not true in the US because of our shortage of residency spots. I know like a dozen families of doctors in their 50s whose much more talented children did a zillion hours of volunteering and grinder through undergrad to get into crappy medical schools, and anyone in the know can see the med school applicant pool has gotten stronger with the influx of children of 90s-00s high-skilled immigrants
