Hedy is a gradual and multilingual programming language that helps kids to learn programming and Python, supporting 48 natural languages.

Just discovered Hedy, a gradual programming language. It's a new idea on how to teach programming to beginners. Very cool! https://t.co/3dBnmTqfAs @hedycode
The Hour of Code will happen tomorrow. This year marks our 2nd Hour of Code event, all in efforts to broaden participation and raise awareness in the Botswana community about CSEd to drive change and support. We could not have done it without facilitators and industry partners.
This week, we have the amazing @Felienne discussing @hedycode 🔥
Hedy is a programming language created to make it easy for students to learn to code and it has been localized into 48 languages since! 🤯

I was honored last week to have my friend Professor @Felienne, from Netherlands attend the CSEdBotswana summit! She presented how she broadened participation through her programming language, Hedy which now has over 40 translations, including Setswana. Exciting times...
🎙️New Episode
We hear from the @Felienne about working on an open source project to build a textual, multilingual programming language for teaching coding in a classroom.
We really enjoyed learning more about this, we hope you do too! Listen here:

With this new system, handing in programs can be done from the code UI directly, with the plane icon. This removes the need to go to the My programs page, also easier!
The code page will show a bar if a program is handed in so kids know right away.
Update!!! We have changed our saving model!
From now on, programs will be auto-saved on every run, when you switch tabs and every 10 seconds. The UI now looks like this! No more large save buttons but sleek icons!
It is of course annoying if things change, but we really think this new model will lead to less frustration, since it will remove the annoying "save your program" popup.
It is also better aligned feels with the "google docs" model of saving that most kids grow up with now.
Es genial ser parte de este proyecto. Aquí dice que es solo para niños, pero si eres adulto y no tienes mucho dominio del inglés, Hedy es multilenguaje y puedes usarlo completamente en español!
Learning a programming language can be a huge leap for children. That’s why @Felienne created @hedycode, a language that gradually introduces the rules of syntax to young coders.
Find out how Hedy is here to make it easier for kids to learn coding.

#Programming itself is not hard but learning to program can be hard.
Enter #Hedy, a programming language and learning environment that fills the gap between Scratch and Python
