@KJF239 @chatbiology When we visited JHI they still use a Sanger for lots of work as many researchers want to check short sequences. They use nanopore too for genomic analysis but less accurate overall?

Loads of fun with Dr Ali Roberts testing the effect of pH on flower pigments, testing their solubility in oil and water and looking at them under the microscope. It was fab to hear her expert knowledge and experience her enthusiasm. #DaffDNA

@chatbiology For Scottish Advanced Higher we do a guided day trip to our local estuary/dune system and practise transects, learn about bird migrations, and do ethograms on the seal haul
