the daily barrage of newly unemployed tech folks is emotionally draining + selfishly, hasn't allowed space to come to terms with myself being laid off. the feelings of loss, sadness for my fellow friends & (ex) coworkers, & anger at the powers that enabled this are overwhelming
Reading 'Jesus and John Wayne' right now (fascinating book) and it's hilarious reading about how the evangelicals advanced so much of their ideology on anti-communism/Russia during the cold war & now the same group is like 'F you Ukraine deal with it' lol
@mambo_maya it would be so fun to watch together but also i'm absolutely not going to Florida to watch Brady 🥴 Maybe we should put a little bet on the game tho...
discussing w my partner on where we should be planning to live and i can't believe the thought 'maybe michigan wouldn't be so bad' entered my mind. this timeline is awful (congrats tho Michigan, you actually did something decent 💙)
and this is *just* the subway. wait till people hear about the bus stops with heated seats in the winter/AC in the summer , covers for rain and air pollution, digital signage with visualization/audio for arrivals, outlets for charging on buses + free city wifi on each bus..
