@neil_shah How do you estimate the price Apple is paying for memory and storage? I thought they were getting much more favorable terms than these suggest.
@bubbleboi ??? Kimi has MLA layers and that grows linearly with context with more bytes per token than V4 — sure they could increase the KDA layer ratio but do you really think they can reason over a 10M context window with just a bunch of fixed state tables?
@SouthernValue95 Good points + a key diff w GOOG is they have 2 great assets (YT and Cloud) that are already meaningful % of mkt cap and are past the worst of the investment j curve. DIS had parks as a ballast but that got muddled by the Fox deal (as u mention) and covid
Think this is the right comparison re Google Search and linear TV.
Will try to expand on this in a post but imo there’s a strong arg to be made that G Search is cable 2.0. And that’s not nec a bad thing for $GOOG stock
"Eddy Cue said searches in $AAPL's browser fell for the first time in April."
Feels like $GOOG's equivalent of when $DIS reported ESPNs first subscriber decline in 2015.
Ironically $DIS has been flat for a decade since that moment, but is +10% today after delivery a major proof point that they've crossed the chasm of linear disruption.
