@Menkvi I've experienced this. To be fair, as a non-native speaker with a German accent tinted by years in Ireland, I do it, inadvertently and badly, when confronted with a strong regional accent. It's embarrassing. Please try not to do it. For non-natives it comes across as patronising.
@JimmyMcRussles@FlintDibble Are you serious? There's lots of coastal archaeology, including submerged sites. Even submerged cities. If there were submerged ice age cities, we'd have found at least a few.
@SinikillOne@JohannaNyman5 Even if that were true: do you think the US should revert to being British? Ireland too? India? Should Texas be Mexican or Spanish? Should Greece be part of Turkey, Norway of Denmark, the Netherlands of Spain? Is your impression that the people in those countries yearn for that?
@CyberPunkCortes 3/3 different interpretations of freedom of speech. Try to respect Britain for having its own ways, it's not your country. By the way, uying clout from Elmo with a blue tick does increase your range, but not your credibility.
@CyberPunkCortes 2/3 hear all kinds of insults against all kinds of politicians. And a type of intelligent criticism that US media seems incapable of producing. The example you use here is appalling, but misguided. The royals are not politicians and haven't been for centuries. In any case there
@CyberPunkCortes 1/3 Interesting that you include harassing people in your view of rights. Many on this side of the Atlantic would consider that beyond the pale. As regards insulting politicians you're plain wrong. Watch an episode or two of Have I Got News For You to start with, you'll see and
Time to wish my friends and everyone who sees this a Happy Christmas. I hope this is a peaceful time for you, spent with loved ones. Picture shows a 13th century #byzantine nativity in the Church of Panagia Kera near Kritsa in #Crete. I would love to show you...

@ariehkovler Note Musk's poor command of English. Baker "was exited" from Twitter. Eugh. For his “possible role" (he means alleged) in suppressing "public dialogue”. "Public dialogue" surely should be "public discourse" (that he thinks of it as dialogue is quite revealing).
The #Ballinderry game board. A wooden object discovered 90 years ago in an #Irish bog reveals a glimpse of Ireland's history and the interaction between local #Celtic societies and Scandinavian #Viking incomers 1,000 years ago. #archaeology https://t.co/RyU9USmGLW
#Brac is the largest of Croatia's Dalmatian islands, but not the most famous. There's a lot to discover in this beautiful place: landscapes, history and more... #visitcroatia#visitdalmatia https://t.co/aMCA7Roniv
@AllianceBE@GermanAmbUK Your point? Germany is doing exactly what you suggest, if you replace "UK" with "EU". It's a net contributor to the EU, roughly at the scale you mention, and more so than the UK was. Its economy is doing rather well, in case you haven't noticed.
@oneunderscore__@ariehkovler So, that was actually a real event, and people went to attend it? I still find it nearly impossible to understand what's going on in some people's minds. I'm not sure is it reminiscent of medieval mass hysteria, or rather of a cult.
