With special thanks to John & Lyndsey from https://t.co/aFdlE5XpWs for all their Art Handling & Sculpture Conservation expertise plus the York Consortium for Craft and Conservation bursary award for CPD.
The art team from @UoYBorthwick & the Estates @UniOfYork are enjoying a 2 day art handling course to make sure we take the best care of the hundreds of artworks in our collection! So many fab insights and great hands-on experiences! #UoYArt
Art collection team outing to Milton Keynes, meeting the wonderful @TimSkeltonMK & David Stabler who gave us a fascinating tour of the city’s impressive sculpture trail! Lots of inspiration for our very own sculptures @UniOfYork! And we’ve got plans - watch this space!😉 #UoYArt
An unusual concrete sculpture by Barbara Hepworth has been painstakingly restored by Tessa Jackson ACR and her team. The work is now ready to head to Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, where it will be shown alongside Hepworth's works on other media:

Planning applications (in England) will no longer be needed for brownfield sites as part of ‘radical changes’ announced by prime minister https://t.co/QorRtigVVU - so no opportunity for scrutiny or any conditions to require recording of buildings prior to demolition?
Had a great day on Tuesday with colleagues from across the sector @MusDevYorks@DiscoverElsecar. Great work going on with the industrial collections network. Here's the Newcomen Engine basking in the sunshine!
Director of the @sciencemuseum group hits "copy and paste", making the same weak defence of @BP_plc...again. An oil firm planning to expand fossil fuel production by 20% in the next 10 years has no place in a science museum. https://t.co/i83WOOHAdI #TheWholeTruth#DropBP
@heritagepaintin@steve220459@BobGwynne I agree - what an oversight - museum and heritage sector are integral to each other and what will happen to the infrastructure-surely part of the original site? I remember seeing this https://t.co/R0nVslXp6i
