Loves motorbikes, art, hills, sea, books & chewing the fat with old friends. Believes in an international, outward looking, welcoming & independent Scotland.
@BRBMotoblog I enjoy riding in groups, when people are looking out for one another & not showing off. But biking alone is great! I did a Europe trip solo (France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria & Germany) & decided to ride one mountain road twice, which was fun but delayed me by several hours ๐
@AyoCaesar@tomlinsonlindam Scotlandโs water is already under public ownership through Scottish Water and is not privately run - its quality is ranked the highest in the UK.
@johnharris1969@martinimarie Iโm thankful my brother (non verbal, with learning disabilities) is in a supported house of 3 people & 24 hour care. He enjoys lots of activities out & about with kind, brilliant staff. For 10 yrs he was abused in an institution. His present living situation is a fragile blessing
@Grouse_Beater My husband used to go under age drinking in there with his pals back in the day (heโs 44 so that was a long time ago ๐). Then a policeman bought the pub so they had to go over to Denholm instead to drink. A well known photographer had it for a while - but no idea who has it now.
@carlfreer@AfricanArchives I bought King Leopoldโs Ghost in Brussels when visiting there. It was the most devastating book Iโd ever read & opened my eyes to horrific events in the Congo under King Leopold that Iโd not been aware of. There is so much hidden history that needs to better known & understood.
@EmmaWebsdale Edinburgh Council did similar in Princeโs St Gardens - felled beautiful, mature trees. Many Edinburgh residents complained but could not stop it happening ๐ข
@wendgill @neilmcrowther@RoseUnwin As sister of a brother with learning disabilities & autism, after our mum died of cancer in 2011, Iโve continually advocated for him to live his best life. Iโve often challenged decisions that would limit his activities. Without family it can be a completely different story.
@robin_jb They originated in the 1960s as unfaired, stripped back bikes & have enjoyed a modern revival. The name came about in the 60s because folks used to race around between biker cafes - or thatโs the story ! So much that could have been done with that & #TheApprentice wrecked it ๐ข๐ญ
@debsinindia@deathinparadise I think the loose ends of the previous episodes of #DeathInParadise (the copper arriving, Sophie and the guy watching in the car) are going to come together in a finale - thereโs going to be something bigger afoot ๐ฌ
@MickCondon I did it in 2014, before it was the NC500 & it was beautiful & quiet. Then again in 2017 over 5 days from Edinburgh, which was about the right amount of time - it was busier & I also detoured off it on B roads. Iโd go in either May (pre midge season) or Sept (post midge season)
@zcelticboy@bbcapprentice@Lord_Sugar He got rid of the Irish guy as well in week 2 of the last series - the rugby player - who was really good I felt ๐
