In 2010, while at SIBU, I became aware of power lines & #wildlife electrocution from expanding development & #habitat fragmentation in #CostaRica. In 2018, I noticed there was still NOTHING in the news on it. So, I started my investigation @undarkmag. https://t.co/KLR9dLG6uz
The Moon is special in so many ways. Scientifically, it provides opportunities we simply don't have on Earth. It's near enough to reach with robotic explorers and humans. And for all of us on Earth, it's special because it's ours. 🩶
Enjoying #SciWri25 sitting behind someone wearing a passion flower shirt, a lecture on entanglement using an image that looks like my son’s skate ramp, & participating in podcast ‘Normal Curves’ showing the effects of alcohol on the ability to speak a foreign language. 🇫🇷

My UT-Austin students learning field biology skills. One uses a DIY clinometer looking yonder at her partner to measure slope to create an elevation profile. They record UTM coordinates, pacing distance, compass bearings, and canopy coverage. These kids are motivated and sharp!
#CostaRica has more canopy bridges for #wildlife than any other country and the government is considering to pass a new law that mandates building #canopy bridges over all new roads and buildings helping to protect #howler monkeys. https://t.co/h3VO1nV2P3 via @Mongabay.

"Did you know that the phrase "Do you have proof of that?" is actually asking for evidence? In science, we don't "prove" but test hypotheses to understand occurrences. #Science#HypothesisDrivenResearch Bioconcept by @helene_engler https://t.co/EaOB4sgmic
An optimistic story about the future of #coral by @juliberwald
“Tela Bay, Honduras is hot, polluted, and the last place anyone expected to find a thriving coral reef…” https://t.co/bSN0PkVMGm.
Oh, as a correction to the video, I’m excited to be back part-time as a university lecturer. I’ll be co-teaching a field seminar in environmental sustainability at @UTAustin this semester. #womeninscience do it all
Here is my journey to #scicommm for @ExploreBiology at @scicommlab From a dancing kid to a butterfly biologist, to starting my own business to raise my kids as a single mom, I tell the story of how anyone, regardless of background, can be a scientist. https://t.co/JCsuGfpMIA
Introducing Bio-Concepts, a new type of educational content that focuses on teaching fundamental concepts in biology. These short, focused pieces provide the starting blocks to help students learn and understand complex topics. #BioConcepts#BiologyEducation
