Did you know that it is possible to be called up for jury duty and given a summons of 48 weeks? This recently happened to a friend of mine. They appealed and were put on a different case for 6 weeks instead.

@RachaelHasIdeas It can be pretty horrific. It's an important part of the system, but it is also pretty unreasonable at times.

I have never done jury duty. Last time I got the letter, I was excused on account of being a sole trader. Before that, I was heavily pregnant.
