@BigMeanInternet Any kind of natural science or medicine research? Start with AlphaFold, ESM-3, Cancer Prediction at DKFZ, OwkinZero… There’s no argument to be won in denying the acceleration in those fields, focus your critique on its deeper implications.
@Naskomusic i am glad you are talking about it. my cpu is not as crazy, but i still have a Ryzen 9 5900X and it happens even around 50 tracks, but every chain is pretty long and parallel. my guess it is not only track count but also number of placement and “wirings” it has to change?
@kaifuaudio Haven’t seen it here nor on zeroth thread, but the definite swiss army knife reverb is MTurboReverb, no? (Benn Jordan also confirmed this once)
@gavinmuellerphd do you really think that through their dominance in underground piracy there is an injection of misinformation happening in those spaces, or is it more about that liberty boosting a russian image? (because i have to say i am susceptible, god bless russian cinephiles social media
@lakeeater Used the Chatgpt voice feature for french speaking, its amazing. the progress you feel yourself making is much more comparable to tutoring than a learning app. However on free plan you have too little time with advanced voice model, but its actually the reason i am paying the 20$
@kleeposting Undermining the crucial value of verbal mediation of knowledge is actually a clear sign of the elitist social degeneration you are propagating here. What you are spouting is a status quo that did more to instigate this hierarchy of literacy than to ever prevent it.
@rjpelleg @yung_lacanian unfortunately the difficulty in talking about the cinema is that it is the exact same piece of media at home, which is not true for a live show. people do balk about live shows that are dj-sets in disguise
@LetovCCRU i see it almost as a circuitary property of the actual and not in parallel. not saying delanda is generally helpful but in his simulation theories he gives the example of a knife being virtually able to cut, which is a virtual material relation. in actuality it has not cut.
@peligrietzer After reading Labatut’s “The Maniac” one is inclined to say its definitely John von Neumann, but he also really manages to hype those ‘great men’ up (Computer architecture is just one his breakthroughs)
@no_earthquake i work in 3D animation and i agree. it is about softness, creases, fuzz, fluff. almost no living, moving objects have clear defined hard boundaries, but 3D graphics work like that. houdini has most advanced features (vellum) to simulate soft tissue, realism still difficult/slow
@vorticistgirl your adornian elitism has no place but in the dying archaic institutions of bourgeois artistic repression. any and all liberation will come through a culture of the masses, which currently is more radical than it has ever been, believe it or not
