@johndrewmarkley 1) that practice is not actually endorsed by LDS authorities
2) if it were actually permissible, then it would be analogous to an eruv or other workarounds permitted by halakha: an omnipotent G-d made the rules, so clearly He also made the loopholes and is fine with us using them
@DolphinMossad They believe in G-d, they believe in Jesus, they believe in a bunch of extra stuff (and their Christology is eccentric, to be sure) but by any reasonable definition the various sects of the LDS movement are indeed Christian.
The $64,000 question is: are Muslims Christian?
@halogen1048576@yacineMTB many prepaid cards or more specifically gift cards do this. of course while some gift cards can be used online (if you're dealing with a business in the same country) others cannot for that very reason.
@souljagoyteller calling T. Roosevelt an imperialist would be pretty on the money but calling him a white supremacist would be decidedly at odds with his actions as president.
@kindaveryfurry@RealiaAmelia not historically the case. the Green Gang teamed up with Jiang before the Chinese Civil War. and organized crime in Europe/the US were usually anticommunist to the point of working with the CIA (allegedly up to and including plots to assassinate Castro).
@drbombb@The_Davos_Man Moishe and Yitzhak meet up for coffee in Odessa. "Did you hear," Moishe said, "about the war Russia's fighting against NATO? So far the orcs have lost hundreds of thousands of men, the entire Black Sea Fleet..."
"Incredible!" says Yitzhak. "And NATO?"
"NATO hasn't arrived yet!"
@metroadlib@am_yers oof. what I'd do is casually reach out to the lawyer for their Virginia bar number, see if they can produce one that's valid. and if not, casually bring it up in a filing so the judge can see what's going on too.
@thesisklord@ColeSandick are you taking political credit for people sending death threats to his kids? I figure that's the sort of thing you're into anyways but I'm still astonished that in grasping for some shred of victory you're like "well my compatriots sent death threats to the governor's family"
@Mike_from_PA@nikicaga also - frankly, knowing what I do of your actions during the 2024 election season, I would take any political suggestion from you with a large grain of salt. you are not nearly as well-informed as you think you are.
@Mike_from_PA@nikicaga 3 justices dissented. the Virginia Supreme Court has a reputation of being nonpartisan; this is not to say that they are, but the justices made reasoned legal conclusions in good faith. I may disagree with them but I don't think they're corrupt.
@souljagoyteller I was one of the few people to really enjoy Honey Don't! (lesbian b-movie neo-noir dark comedy starring Margaret Qualley as private detective? what's not to love)
@nonregemesse the question isn't how 40,000 people could be fed while invading Westeros, the question is how the hell Khal Drogo keeps them fed even on the Dothraki Sea
@nonregemesse if they were medieval-era Mongols or other real-life steppe nomad groups then they would've probably been able to bring along foodstuffs (most likely herds of sheep, common on the steppe). unfortunately GRRM et al created a racially caricatured society which murders all the time.
